Artists Gardens

The gardens are a mix of raised vegetable beds, three main flower beds and established shrubs, trees and fruit trees that have evolved within
a pre existing footprint on four sides of our 19th C. cottage. The rear garden is centred and laid around a pleasant ornamental fish pond.

Painting in the gardens

May to September. The gardens are compact yet laid out to try and offer a new
composition at every angle throughout summers chaging floral season.

Seasonal Breaks & places to paint locally.

We can offer individual landscape painting breaks throughout the seasons using local views. The "low road" churches in spring with beautiful Daffodils,
Tulips, Forget me nots and Primroses. Countryside and Humber views over the marshes, river and bridge, fenland landscapes, stately home gardens at Elsham,
Rhododendron woods at Twigmore, Bluebell woods, pretty country villages and traditional pubs with real ales at sensible prices.

Of course you know I love your work but I really enjoyed listening to you talk to your audience! I learned so many tips (like the cheap wet acrylic palate and freezing the oil colors, and on and on.)
Love this video!

Hello Peter,
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy and learn from your wonderful videos. I never really had the opportunity to study art although I began painting and trying to learn on my own back in my college days. After many years in the insurance industry and our daughters graduating college I changed professions and began teaching which allowed me the time to pursue my love of painting which I had so long neglected. A few years ago I began an earnest pursuit of learning how to draw and paint taking one medium at a time. I have always been a great admirer of the impressionists and have wanted to learn how they created such beautiful artwork.
Recently, I discovered your amazing videos while trying to learn watercolor techniques and began to study them as I would a textbook. We live in an area of the United States (th State of West Virginia) where there are few artists and little opportunity for art lessons. I am so thankful for the internet and the opportunity to learn from someone like you. At age 57 years old, I now have more opportunity to learn to create artwork than ever. Your videos offer great motivation for me; not only to produce excellent artworks but also to pursue a way of life that sees and appreciates beauty. I very much admire how you approach all your artwork from the large canvasses to the Christmas cards, wire geese, etc.
Our family lives only two states away from North Carolina where you made those beautiful Appalachian videos and if you return there I would drive down there just to meet and learn from you. Hopefully in a few years when my wife and I retire I can travel to Lincolnshire to tour your beautiful gardens and learn from you there.
Thank you again for your wonderful videos from which I continue to learn so much about art and life.
Your student,
Tom Randolph
